About Maggie
Finding Adventure at Every Turn
Maggie is parked up in Kerswell, Devon, at the foot of the stunning Blackdown Hills. From her spot on our private driveway, she enjoys sweeping views of the hills when she’s not out on an adventure. The Blackdown Hills are a year-round wonder, with frosty trees in winter to bluebells carpeting the ground in spring. We’re also perfectly situated near some beautiful beaches—Sidmouth, Beer, Branscombe, Budleigh Salterton, and more—while Dartmoor National Park is less than an hour’s drive away.
Our area is rich in charm and natural beauty, with National Trust properties like Killerton and Knightshayes. There’s also plenty to explore nearby including short cruises, wildlife parks, beaches, theme parks, and endless walks and views to enjoy nearby. Living in this peaceful rural spot, we’re fortunate to have local farm shops where you can purchase fresh, local produce for your trip.
For convenience, the nearest town is just a five-minute drive away, and the city of Exeter is only 25 minutes by car. So, whether you're here to relax and take in the views, explore the surrounding area, or take her further, Maggie’s location offers the perfect mix of tranquillity yet access to everything you need.

Our Story
Meet Camelot and Isaac! We are a husband and wife duo with a love for the great outdoors. Not forgetting our little cockapoo, Effie, who is eager to explore alongside us. Having spent our lives in the countryside, we’ve developed a real appreciation for nature's beauty.

Before we welcomed our campervan, Maggie, our holidays often ended with a sense of frustration at being confined to one location. But with Maggie, our adventures have transformed! She has turned our holidays into endless explorations, and we can honestly say it’s the only getaway we never want to end.

Camelot struggles with a fear of flying which has made traveling together at times a challenge. We know that many others face similar feelings, which is why we decided to invest in a campervan. Maggie allows us to travel comfortably, truly offering a cozy little home on wheels, and we’re excited to share her with others!
Our journey with Maggie so far has included stunning locations like our favourite, the Lake District, and even all the way to Scotland. We have plans to explore all over the UK and eventually abroad, soaking in the wonderful scenery the world has to offer.
Conversion Story
When commissioning Maggie to be converted, we wanted to capture the comfort of a cosy cottage and the relaxation such a place brings - an escape from our busy lives to reset and rewind. Our goal is for you to have the freedom to explore in a romantic way. With her gorgeously cosy wood burner, soft lighting and hand-crafted interior, she offers just this experience - on or off grid. She is perfect for a romantic getaway.
When choosing our van, we settled on the Volkswagen Crafter. They are known to be the most comfortable, car-like-van you can get and has features such as Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, AirCon, Cruise Control, Reversing Camera, Parking Sensors ect. For us, all these features are important and unique to the Crafter. Besides, who doesn’t love a VW?! We decided to remove the original seating in order to allow a wonderful entryway from the cabin to the living area which creates a flowing space, and to fit comfortable adjustable seating with arm rests for both passengers. Maggie was converted by Wild Nest Camper Conversions, who handcraft their conversions with their unique style, attention to detail and love. We continue to showcase Maggie with all those same qualities, and we hope it shines through when you enjoy her.
